But, with this KABHI ALVIDA NAA KEHNA (or is it Gehraiyaan? You decide...) twist, he seems to have taken a giant leap to a very different film. So, after 16 years, the Karan Johar movie was even more Bollywood than Bollywood. Over the years, he has made a number of films that straddle both the worlds of cinema and Bollywood. But this time, KABHI ALVIDA NAA KEHNA almost seems to be straying from the Bollywood path, to the world of YouTube. This is unprecedented.

Trust me, they do" "Acting is a business and there is no difference between reality and a work of fiction" Karan's inclination to import the 60s in the film is quite evident in the title card too - :KABHI ALVIDA NAA KEHNAThis is an effort to make a statement that there is a difficulty in adapting the 60s. But whatever Karan says is that the film is not an attempt to be authentic. The elements like the "marriage" is similar to the kind of marriage that a bride does in our reality. Yes it is not a film about the 60s but a film with a pseudo and a travesty to the 60s. And Karan presents the film in a style that it is not the same as the 60s. This is the point at which Karan has left the platform for people to see and interpret. Take the post kiss scene for example. The hero and heroine leaves the room - :And then a guy with a guitar enters the room and sings a song called Sun Rise and the hero and heroine go back to their room all smiles. But I have one question - :Is Sun Rise the real song used in the film? Or was it just a song used by the filmmakers to portray the song that they want to portray? There is nothing wrong with the song being used but in this case it could be quite an insult to the audience to use a song that they already know. Thus in this case it is both film makers indulging in a fraud and insult to the intelligence of the audience. Also the fact that the song was not used in the film shows that Karan has no faith or respect to the songwriter as well. People who are creators of lyrics and music often go through all kinds of training to become a song writer.
